01Eligibility

Plotit is available to currently enrolled students at participating colleges and universities. To register, you need a valid campus access code and a working institutional .edu email address. Plotit is not directed to, and may not be used by, anyone under 13.

02Your account

Verification happens in two steps: a one-time code sent to your phone by text, and a one-time code sent to your .edu email address. Once verified, Plotit generates a pseudonymous alias for you — this alias, not your real name, is what other students on the platform see.

You're responsible for keeping your device secure, since your device itself — not a password — is what signs you back in.

03SMS terms

Message frequency

Variable — you'll receive a text only when you request a verification code, typically once at registration and again if you sign in on a new device. Plotit does not send recurring, promotional, or marketing texts under this consent.

Rates & opt-out

Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out of SMS from Plotit — doing so will disable phone-based verification, so you may need to re-verify a different way to keep using your account. Reply HELP for assistance, or contact [email protected].

Carriers

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Supported carriers may change without notice.

04Acceptable use

Plotit is a space for real campus activity — meeting up, organizing, and posting to people at your own school. You agree not to:

• Impersonate another student, organization, or institution
• Use Plotit to harass, threaten, or share another person's private information without consent
• Attempt to identify another user's real identity from their alias
• Automate account creation, or share your access code with anyone who isn't an eligible student at your school
• Use the platform for unsolicited advertising or spam

05Content you post

You keep ownership of what you post. By posting on Plotit, you give us permission to display, store, and distribute that content within the app, to the audience you chose when posting. We can remove content or restrict an account that violates these terms or our community guidelines.

06Privacy

How we collect, use, and protect your information — including your phone number and SMS opt-in data — is covered in full in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.

07Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from Settings, or by emailing [email protected]. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms, including sharing an access code outside your institution or violating the acceptable-use section above.

08Disclaimers

Plotit is provided "as is." We work to keep the service reliable and campus activity genuine, but we don't guarantee that any event, post, or community listed on Plotit is accurate, safe, or error-free. Use good judgment meeting people in person, the same as you would anywhere else.

09Changes to these terms

If we make a material change to these terms — including anything in Section 3 that affects SMS consent — we'll update the effective date above and notify you in the app before the change takes effect.
